- Suspended Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin and a sister, Janine Orie, face public corruption charges. But the cases are different enough that lawyers representing Justice Melvin have requested her trial be held separately from her sister’s, according to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article.
- District Judge Sylvia James recently was removed from office after the Michigan Supreme Court found her guilty of ethics violations, yet she won an election primary this week and will stand in a general election in November, the Detroit News reported.
