Pa. Governor Touts Merit Selection of Appellate Judges
Pennsylvania’s governor is urging an overhaul of the state’s “notoriously broken political process,” making one of his targets a shift to merit selection of appellate judges, according to a report by our friends at Judges on Merit, a blog co-sponsored by Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts.
Gov. Ed Rendell publicly assailed political campaign donations to judges. “Who gives money to judicial candidates? It’s lawyers, for the most part,” he said, according to a report by the Times-Leader.
