Texas Court Candidate Denies Racial Strategy

Two Texas lawyers claim that John Devine, a candidate for the Texas Supreme Court in a GOP runoff July 31, told them he targeted incumbent Justice David Medina because the judge has a “Mexican name” and could be brought down in a GOP primary challenge.

Now Devine has denied those charges, according to an Austin American-Statesman article, and labeled them “a ploy by a desperate campaign that is trying to change the subject.”
